The capital city of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram, named after Lord Vishnu literally means 'the city of Lord Anantha' (city of the eternal Lord).

From the first door, one can see the head of the deity, from the door in the centre, a devotee can see the lotus blooming from the Lord's navel and from the last one, his feet can be seen.
It is also probably one of those shrines where Lord Vishnu is seen with his consorts, Goddess Lakshmi (also known as Sri Devi) as well as Bhu Devi (the Goddess of Earth). Another striking feature of this deity is that the right hand of Lord Vishnu rests on a Shiva Linga.
